ATEN International, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, today announced the launch of the CS1768, a KVM switch that enables access and control of up to eight computers from a USB keyboard, USB mouse and dual-interface monitor (users can toggle between DVI-I and VGA). The CS1768 delivers superior video quality and, supporting both digital and analog video, enables mixed operations.

The CS1768 is powerful, flexible and easy to use. It supports high-resolution video with quality up to 1920 x 1200 (Single Link DVI) and 2048 x 1536 (VGA). Support for DVI and VGA allows for flexible working environments, as the industry increasingly migrates to higher resolution video. With computer selection available via front panel pushbuttons, hotkeys, and OSD, the KVM has a user-friendly interface. While in broadcast mode, the CS1768 can easily send commands from the console to all computers in order to perform several operations, including software installation, upgrades, shutdowns, etc.

"This is a product of both the present and the future,"said Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. "Many industries utilizing video are moving toward newer technologies such as DVI. There are two issues that require addressing for that migration: higher quality video should be supported and a bridge between analog and digital needs to be created. The CS1768 addresses both of those issues."

The CS1768 has two main applications: broadcasting and test labs/production lines. In broadcasting, the DVI KVM has particular application in post-production. Creative heads of post-production need to operate multiple computers over one user console while switching between a broad variety of signals. Computers in post-production require powerful processors and intensive fans that therefore produce much noise and heat. In order to enable post-production staff to work as efficiently as possible, computers need to be moved to server rooms so that a quiet and clearly arranged post-production workplace can be maintained.

The CS1768 8-port USB DVI KVM Switch is available now. For more information please contact: ATEN International (phone: +886-2-8692-6789, fax: +886-2-8692-6577, Email: marketing@aten.com, KVM Switch Solutions Provider, ATEN) or contact your local ATEN sales representatives or distributor.
