Windows XP pro + Windows Vista home prem workgroup

Hey,

I have two machines: Win XP pro and Win Vista home prem hooked up to the same workgroup. I have a share on the Win XP machine that I wish to access using the vista machine. However, whenever I double click on the win xp machine in the win vista network window, I am always prompted for a password.

I did a little research and found that a possible cause could be that both machines should have an identical username/passwrd combination. Well I did this and I still cannot get any access. I log into both the win xp and win vista machines with the same username/password and it is still prompting for the password to access the win xp comp. When I enter the username/password into the prompt, it says that it is incorrect.

Hi, It looks like you set up a password with your share, you will need to go in the computer you are trying to access and either remove the password or type in a password that you will remember.
