Windows 7 question

I had a dell laptop stolen and it had windows 7 professional 64 bit on it, and I was wondering if I can use the re-installation disk on another computer. I asked someone from dell and they said no because it only has a single use license. Is that true or do they just want me to spend more money with them?

Unfortunately for you they are correct, it will have shipped with a single user licence. The only possible way is to phone Microsoft and ask them if you can transfer the key to another machine. Do you still have the licence key?

Won't work. OEM copies of Windows, regardless of the source, will only work on the system they shipped with.
