i have vista ultimate btw and xp pro

I had no problems with vista on two gigs or ram and an e6600. Most of your problems are simply the DDR you are running. Keeping everything you have but proc, board and RAM and you'll have a much better vista experience when running ddr2 or three. There is no need to buy a new video card or hard drives.

The 790i is Skt 775, no AMD cpu is compatible
