Unable to load windows gadgets gallery

This is what happens. I clicked on windows gallery gadgets in the start menu, and all that i can observe is a short moment of pending sign in my cursor, and the windows gallery gadgets is not being loaded. It's somehow corrupted. I went into event viewer and am not able to track the error, all applications are being run smoothly. Any possible recovery steps that i have missed?

What version of Windows? Vista or 7?

Would he have to stick in the windows cd of his version of windows he's using and do the repair option to repair window?

I am using windows 7. It so happened that i can load it after i restart windows. Weird huh.
