Question Primary Partition trouble

Hi, I just bought a copy of partition magic and am having trouble making a primary partition. My C drive has 21 gb free space and I have a D drive which has 8.56 gb and 543 mb of free space. This is all on one hdd. I just got a copy of vista and want to dual boot it. So Im trying to make a primary partition about 10 gb big. For some reason when I hit the create new partition in Partition magic it takes me to the point where I choose my partition size and it says that the min and max size can only be 7.8mb. How do I do this correctly so it works and makes a primary partition 10gb big next to my c and d drives.
