Is there any particular piece of software that comes highly recommended for gathering together all of the photographs that I have on my pc?

You could try Picasa. Free program that will index and generate thumbnails of all photos on your PC. Also offers basic tools for editing and sharing.

Thank you for this crazyman143. Presumably the programme will import all of the pictures on my pc and will collate them in some way. This seems to be just what I am looking for.

What will happen when I do a clean install of the O/S, will I lose my photo's?
