Outlook express and outlook 2007 on same machine ?

no, i have a lot of emails in outlook express but i know you cant install office 2010 when office 2007 is on the machine but dont know if this would be the same. Want to keep the old program just for backup purposes

Is it the same account on both programs? If so, you could simply import the emails into Outlook and create a backup of the pst file.
