Need help with spam filter in outlook

Trying to troubleshoot a problem with a computer.

Running win XP sp3, with microsoft outlook 2007. Was running avast antivirus and a spam filter with no problems. Recently uninstalled avast andnow the spam filter is acting funny. Emails seem to be getting lost and I have no idea where they are being saved.

I looks like emails are coming in and then they "disappear." They don't show up in the inbox or junk mail folder.

Is it the way the inbox is sorted? It might be sorted by name or subject or size or something other date. See if you can click on date and have then sorted by newest to oldest.

Also, what SPAM filter? Is it Avast Spam Filter? If so maybe some of the files got removed with with the antivirus uninstall.
