MacBook Pro 2.4 ghz OS X Snow Leopard

I have a MbP 2009 which the DVD, USB, and CAM have all stopped working. Will re installing the o/s correct these issues or has this machine had it? Still a good machine but I tried to do the SMC reload with no success. All dvds just spin and eject and no software is recognized by the USB ports. Thanks.

It does sound like it may be on it's way out but re-installing an OS can work wonders.

That would definitely be worth a try.

Sounds like hardware failures. A reinstall probably won't help, but it certainly won't hurt.
