Hi all,

I have bought a HDD caddy that can replace your disc drive into a hard drive bay. I managed to get them all in and it is running all good. The problem is when I choose to reboot for some drivers it goes to a black screen and I can hear the hard drive spinning. It stays there for quite a while and eventually I have to manually turn it off. What could be the cause of this? I really want to keep the hard drive caddy for extra storage, this saves me carrying my portable hard drive.

I have an ASUS laptop model N56VZ and it is running Windows 8.1. Also I can shutdown fine, it doesnt hang, just the reboot is a problem.

Cheers

After much searching it turns out there is a switch on the caddy that causes the laptop to consume power even when it is turning off or resetting. So I flicked it and it works like a charm now.
