Exclamation How do I restore win7 from windows.old after installing MicrosoftTechPreview(Win10)?

I just recently installed Microsoft's Tech Preview (Windows 10) and for some reason it copied (upgraded) over my windows 7 x64 OS. I just wanted to install it on a separate partition away from Windows 7 but it never gave me the option to. I found that my Windows 7 got moved to the Windows.old folder. Since I still have my previous OS intact, is there any way at all to restore it without having to erase my hard drive and start all over again?

I also tried booting from my Win7 installation DVD and tried to install windows 7 by downgrading (selected the Upgrade option), but it gave me a compatibility problem saying it doesn't support the current version of windows (Tech Preview/Windows 10). I REALLY don't want to erase my hard drive.

Since it didn't delete your files you can recover them by following this guide How to Restore Your Files From the Windows.old Folder After Upgrading and then just reinstall Windows.
