I don't know where this type of problem would fall under so I just picked any where to post it. I just got a new laptop today, it's nothing fancy;pretty average. I also got a router. For some reason everytime I try to hook them up it will say I'm connected (on the laptop) but when I got to open the Internet it says "Page can not be displayed"

Now I've tired for over 8 hours to try and get it working, and still got nothing. Can anyone help me? =\

Have you run the home and small office network wizard on the laptop? is it on the same workgroup that the pc running the modem is?? have you set it to run as connecting through another pc or gateway???

is the router connected to the internet?

Make sure your laptop is not setup as a static IP.
Start>Settings>Network Connections
Right-click on the wireless connection, properties
Click on TCP/IP Internet Protocol and click on properties.
Make sure it says Obtain an IP Address Automatically
Same for DNS
If it's a static IP address, change it to these two options above. Then reboot.
