Google search and blank screen

When I use Google Chrome or IE to do a Google search on a particular topic I get the usual 247314 results.

Often when I click on one of the results I get an almost blank page with a little box at the top stating 1x1 pixels

Any ideas why this happens and how I can overcome it?

It is often possible to copy the url and then paste into the browser but this is rather long winded.

Have you tried resetting your browser? Is it happening in other broswers?
