i uninstalled then reinstalled but it just came back

Have you tried uninstalling / reinstalling DirectX?

whats the latest version of directX?

ahh, i downloaded the end-user directX package, and it fixed it.

i google'd the dll name, and it was mostly full of obviously dodgy downloads, and one useful one directed at gamers.
