Default Free MS Office

Is there anyone here who knows where I can download MS Office for my HP Pav. I cannot do my freelance job since this laptop doesn't have an MS Application that is installed. Is it possible for me to copy the one from my desktop or Acer laptop? How will I be able to do that? Thanks in advance.

You can download any version of office you have licens to by typing the key in to the verifier on this site:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...ownload/office

There are different types of licens though.
If it came preinstalled on your laptop, then you have a OEM licens.
That licens can not be transferred.

If you have a retail licens, you should be able to just uninstall it from the old computer and reinstalled it on the new one.

If you don't know what your licens key is, you can find it with this program: https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/

You mean free of charge to use? Not sure where to find that so I suggest a free alternative like LibreOffice or Open Office. I use them I don't have a MS Office.

Try to avoid using licensed software on more than one computer. Typically if both run at the same time you might lose it. There could be other case scenarios to lose it but not sure how MS Office deals with that.

Yet another option is to use the on-line versions of MS Office. https://products.office.com/en-us/of...-office-online

It's mostly about update support and some features maybe. But both will do the trick. I've tried both and kept LibreOffice because of some websites claiming it had better update support and a better development team.

Didn't know about that but have used Open Office for years. Works better than office and free is a good price tag! Maybe i should check it out. Will it work on windows 10?

Same. The only issues i've noticed with all the alternatives is that sometimes there are formatting errors when you switch between them and/or MS Word.

Also, iirc, google's version of excel doesn't have all of the fancy math formulas as the real deal, but it has most of them.

Open Office came first but some of the developer's didn't like the direction that Open Office was going so they spun off and created Libre Office. I've tried both and it seems either will do the job. Another free one I like is called WPS Office.

You can read about various free office suites here: https://www.digitaltrends.com/comput...-alternatives/

OpenOffice is the original, and thanks to Oracle's neglecting of the project, they simply dumped it on the Apache Software Foundation after 3.3 and then LibreOffice was born with most of the main OpenOffice developers moving to there. In terms of which is the better free office suite I'd go for LibreOffice due to its more consistent and active development - OpenOffice is literally a security hole at this point with the amount of stagnation between updates these days.

Answering the post, you can't get Microsoft Office for free legally - you are free to use torrent sites and the like, but don't be surprised if you landed with malware in the process, I'd suggest either going for LibreOffice or just buying MS Office if you can afford it.

LibreOffice works well and I've used that a fair bit. I've never found it to be missing a feature that I've needed or wanted!

I use a spread sheet to keep track of conditions with the weather station. Libreoffice works better than Open Office. My figures are where they are supposed to be when with Open Office they never were. I had to shift them to there separate places on the page to see what was really going on. Thanks for this information on Libreoffice. Saves me many hours of work.
