Default Excel Date conversion help

Hi Guys,

Hope this is in the right section!

I have a list of dates written like this in excel. Its just text in general formal.

August 31, 2016
September 7, 2016
September 14, 2016
September 21, 2016
September 28, 2016
October 5, 2016
(and so on)

How do get excel to convert it into a date format it can understand e.g

Use the custom date format: d/mm/yyyy
