Dual Boot Ubuntu 12.10 w/ Win8 - Need Help!

Thanks everyone. I did disable secure boot as well as changed the uefi in the bios. However, it was still a no go. The boot screen kept telling me to put in a boot disc.

I know that my disc was good cuz my other computer recognized it as one.

and to get into windows 8 you will need to enable secure boot may be..

I'm using a dvd, but I can use either.

Currently I enabled secure boot after my last attempt failed.

Just download a tool form here:

Boot and run Linux from a USB flash memory stick | USB Pen Drive Linux

and use a usb stick and try.. may be this work..

Ok I'm woking on the universal usb installer now. Hopefully this will work.

I won't be able to get to far this evening however I'll try to get back to it tomorrow.

Will I still need to change the secure boot?

yes u will need to change the secure boot and the boot order.. and also you may be knowing the partitioning??

See for taking boot from usb either on startup select boot menu and select usb.. or else go to bios settings.. in boot and change the boot order/sequence..
now to install ubuntu along with win8 u will need a separate partition. So go in control panel of windows 8. View by Large or Small Icons. Then go in Administrative tools. Double click on Computer Management. Then go into storage. Then in Disk Manager. And from there you can make a seprate partition for ubuntu..

I did install that and partitioned my drive yet nothing happened. I'm sure I missed something there.

When I read everyone says, "Just restart your computer and it will work. Problem is... my computer doesn't even recognize the usb or disc.
