I'm running MyDefrag. Great program. I have it set to defrag every day with a more thorough defrag once a month.

My computer runs just as fast as it did the day I installed Windows.

Defrag helps to extend the life of your HDD by moving the data into better areas on the disk for easy and quick access.

A defrag can help your read/write heads in the HDD from working so hard to access a file that is "all over the drive" hence, defrag will extend the life of your drive, but by how long?

ONLY my mechanical HDD.

Never, an SSD.

Mechanical drives about 2 or 3 times a year.

I'll say. A Solid State Drive does not have read/write heads, so you dont need to defrag it. :thumb:
