computer won't start

when i turn on my pc it says
windows\system32\config\system
and it won't start
please help

If its XP, then boot from your XP cd and do a repair install.

Somehow, your "system" registry hive was corrupted. To fix this, go to the recovery console and copy the system hive (named "SYSTEM" with no extensions) from X:\windows\repair into X:\windows\system32\config . (Where X is the root drive). If this doesnt help, go to repair install
