Computer Failure

hey guys,

Just want to know why my laptop isn't working at the moment.. I turned it on this morning, to find out that the screen wasn't working at all and that once i turned it on it made this alarm noise for a few seconds and then went off. I turned it off and tried again, but havent had any luck. So if anyone knows what is wrong with my laptop and knows how to fix it, please reply with relevant information.

It is a HP Pavilion DV 6700

blow out all the fans and vents and try it again.

Well the 'alarm' noise usually indicates bad RAM or a bad HDD or MoBo. Flip it over and find the spot on the underside where the RAM is. Remove the plate and make sure it's still seated properly (take it out and put it back in).
