My grandmother's pc got a virus recently and I was given the opportunity to fix it. While I got rid of as much of it as I could, after restarting the computer I encountered the infamous login/logout loop (tried safe mode, same problem). I did some research and booted up an xp disk and ran the chkdsk utility through the recovery console. No dice. Then I tried repairing the and now whenever I boot the system, I get the BSOD.
Here's the error I get:
When I tried to boot in safe mode, it would hang indefinitely at JGOGO.sys. I went ahead and disabled that in recovery console and now safe mode boots fine.
Edit: never found a solution so I went ahead and reinstalled xp. It was long overdue anyway
