I was wondering is it possible to boost ram with just a flash drive. I've tried using my new flash drive to boost my computers ram because it seems that i don't have enough to run games such as Far Cry 2. I ran the flash drive through ready boost and it says its being used but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I go to my system spec's and it says my ram is still the same. Oh and I'm also running on a brand new system, so it shouldnt have any problems but it cant run Games like FC2.

System Specs:

Manufacturer: ASUSTek Computer Inc.

Model: Asus Notebook U52F Series

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3

CPU M 380 2.53 GHz 2.53 GHz

Installed Memory (RAM) :4.00 GB (2.92 GB usable)

System Type: 64-bit Operating System

I am using Windows 7 and i also have an extra 4gb flash drive plugged in but it seems not to be working D:

ReadyBoost doesn't have anything to do with increasing RAM, it uses your flash memory for cache in attempt to speed things up but It's debatable as to whether it makes any noticeable difference.

The only way to increase RAM is to physically add RAM to the computer.

ready boost is so vista. the best way to speed up ya system is MORE RAM MAN.

Your USB drive is about 1000 000 000 times slower then system or L1 L2 L3 cache memory
