bmload.sys BSOD Error

Yesterday I installed windows update on my windows xp machine and now my computer wont boot and shows an 0000000x80 blue screen and shows bmload.sys on top right. Any ideas how I can fix this?? Can I replace the bmload.sys file with the original one?

try to use your recovery CD and repair.

you can also try to delete the file via dos.
you can do that via command prompt from your recovory CD.
if you do not have the recovory CD:
FreeDOS | Files
download dos and install it on a boot CD and boot it up.

Blue screen 80 is indicative of hardware failure. Can you boot to safe mode?
