Attempting to Make back up Disk

When I bought my Laptop, It didn't come with a restoration CD. I want to make one, but need a little guidance. The Laptop I have is an Acer Aspire 5517 model.

Assistance needed!

I managed to get it running through the control panel, but its stuck at 46% and just sits there making little intermittent grinding noises!

That grinding noise might not be good, but who knows. What version of windows are you running?

The one thing that I always use is to just do a backup to a external HDD. I have made a restore CD, but I havent had any problems. It does take a long time for one to be made, so you might just have to wait. Also, make sure that you are using a blank CD. I know that is a stupid thing to say, but I have had friends use a CD that was full before.

acer have their own backup software in your PC, take a look at the manual, if it does not work ring Acer and they will post you one
