Default Android Jellybean tablet Yaffs-bg-1 high cpu load

Hi, I have been having problems with my unbranded 7 inch Android Jellybean tablet witha WM8850 chipset. It was running slowly so i went into developer options and enabled the show CPU usage option.
I can see that a program named yaffs-bg-1 is using a high percentage of my CPU load. I did a quick google search which reveals this is to do with the file system for nand flash drives. but the only other article i could find with someone having an issue with it was someone who was using XBMC (which i am not)
I have uninstalled nearly every app but it still using high cpu load. rebooting or even leaving the tablet idle doesn't seem to fix the issue.
Any ideas?

Are using a memory card in the device?
Athlon II x4 645 || 1TB 7200rpm HDD || EVGA GTX 650Ti OC || 8GB DDR3 RAM || Windows 7 Home x64

i5 4210M || 500GB Samsung EVO 850 SSD || GeForce 825M || 16GB DDR3 RAM || Windows 10 x64
