Hey all I'll give you a summary of my system and the problem I'm having. Okay here goes: I have a Sony Viao 800 Mhz. I use Firefox 1.0 and IE 6.0 as browsers, and I use Sygate as a firewall, Norton 2002 as antivirus. My problem is my system has two HDD a C HDD and a D HDD. On the C HDD I have Windows ME, and on the Windows XP.

Ever since I removed Norton GoBack off the C drive, it has not been able to "recognize" the D drive. If I go to my computer it has the C HDD, and then the CD player, and my DVD drive. If I restart and start the computer in XP mode, the D drive recognizes both hard drives, so there must be some problem that the Norton GoBack deleted a file, but I cannot say which. I tried to reinstall it hoping it would recognize the D drive, but it still doesn't. Then I noticed that the Norton GoBack has deleted all the system restore points on Windows ME so I cannot 'go back' to an earlier point. I know this problem is minor, but if I want to share files from both drives I cannot do it cos I cannot accesss the HDD from the C drive. The only thing I can do is restart the computer and access the D HDD.

Here is the HijackThis report from the C HDD..

ok, i'm not to keen on hijackthis logs, but i will try to help non the less.

1) Ok, 1st of all, what OS are you using at the time it does'nt recognize the "D" drive?

2) how many drives do you have that are not a hhd?

3) and what is the letter type of each drive ? this includes the hhd's.

let's start w/those 1st.....

3) and what is the letter type of each drive ? this includes the hhd's.

let's start w/those 1st.....

1) Windows ME doesn't regonize the D drive (I have two internal hard drives, a c drive and a d drive)

2) floppy drive, two internal hard drives, one internal CDRW, one external DVDRW drive and that's all

3) A (floppy), C and D (internal) but since I delted Norton Go Back 3.5 from windows ME local disk D is gone and ME now has the CDRW drive as D, and the DVDRW as G

1) ok, when you made the partition on the d drive hhd, did you set it to active? sometimes when you make a partition on a hhd, and don't set it to active, after awhile the comp. won't read from it anymore. w/windows xp though it does it automatically.

2) ok, so the only prob. is the D hhd.

3) seems to me that you'll have to manually chande the drive letter for the D hhd back to D. & bump up the cd-rw up one letter & also to the dvd-drive. so that the 2nd hhd's letter is D.

try that & tell me if it works....

That is what I thought the solution was, but I am not sure how to do it?

heheh they even dissed that OS at one of thier conferences.. technet i belive...

please rate the presentation: (9 points 9 being best 1 being worse)
(9 totally excellent 1-this was worse than windows ME!)

almost how it was worded at the conference!! that was funny!
