wow...my friend thinks that crysis copied battlefield 1942....

I think I'm going to go ahead and buy the UT3 when it comes out at Best Buy. I have a $50 gift card so that's good. The only problem is my crappy PC. I need more power to run at max settings.

Recommended System Requirements

2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
1 GBytes of System RAM
NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

I NEVER use the minimum specs. Always go by the recommended specs and more. It's the first time where I see my video card is actually bumped down when it comes to playing games. Even AOE3 isn't that demanding, lol. Whenever you see that your PC can't play top of the line games, you know your system is severly outdated. I......must......perform................new..........................build.......................................soon!!!!

This game is badass:

Correction, this is the playable demo here without having to open up an account:

youll be able to play it on medium to high settings no problem, and your system is FAR from outdated, i expect my video card to last me several years, simply because this is my first time ever being on the bleeding edge of hardware, cept for my cpu. damn i really need a better job, i think im going to go grab an application from mcdonalds next time im there, never know. im only 14 so its the only other place i can work that i know of. im currnetly an umpire but obvioulsy baseball only comes around every so often. im also saving up for a good car\subs. all i want is a new mobo\cpu, which will be hard to fit into my "plan of money spending" for the next 2 years.

although since im always nice to my parents i can get on of the cars we have right now, its a 1994 ford explorer, its good but has a crap paint job\color.

The PC is fine and all but it's beginning to slow down ever since Vista was installed. With a 1 gig RAM, it runs ok but nowhere near the speed I'm getting with my laptop (and the laptop has a much, much bigger hard drive too). There's literally a huge performance difference between my Core 2 Duo laptop compared to my desktop PC (other than the GPU).

I meet the system requirements for UT3 and Crysis, but still, it lags behind dual core systems with an upgraded video card. The specs for UT3 recommends a dual core CPU so I'm thinking maybe it's written to utilize the potential of dual core. If so, the performance will be boosted quite a bit.

OMG, have you even seen the system requirements for Crysis?!?!?!?

Recommended System Requirements
from Crytek and EA

OS - Windows XP / Vista
Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO @ 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Memory - 2.0 GB RAM
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS/640 or similar

Damn, I'm out and depleted. Can't play it...

youll easily be able to play it, just not at full seittings, the minimum spec is a 6600GT so on lower settings its highly optimized.
i got an 8800GTS 320MB, 2gb ram, and a X2 3600+ OCed to ~2.5ghz(for now)

JUST turned midnight here and i still cant download :(

Technically, it's a 6800GT minimum spec:

Looks like I can play it, but I don't like playing games on minimum specs. I've always been the type to take full advantage of the game, to see the fluidity of it. Otherwise, it's just no fun. Since it's the demo, I may give it a try. Don't know yet. If it slows down my system to the point where I can start seeing even the slighest bit of slowdown (especially the frame by frame rate), then I'm done.

There's something wrong with that Crysis website. Maybe it's just a hoax or something.

Something is wrong. Are you on this site?

I'm getting sleepy but it's a good thing I have no classes tomorrow. I wonder if tehre are any alternative sites to download the demo. I see a bunch of files you can download on isohunt. Torrents though.

If your willing to let the slightest amount of slowdown ruin the game for you, don't bother downloading it. It should be obvious that your hardware wont cut it for what you want.
