You spelled it right. Start a list of members too. I'm in, your in, and ssc456 is in as far as I know. Also start an "Ideas list". Once we get people in and stuff, we REALLY REALLY REALLY need to figure out what language we're using. After that we have to get a website going or something, maybe create a whole new thread (where You, me, and ssc456 post then mods close it and we just edit info. Since we were the first to make a stand about joining we can be the "leaders"). After getting organized we also need to discuss teams (programming, modeling, advertising for members, and keeping organized). Then depending on the project we create other teams, such as a storyline team if we do an RPG.

edit: Back on the other thread Muz suggested a benchmarking/utility stressing program. This is a good idea, it could turn out well. Although we wouldn't come close to competing with others out there it is interesting. Anyone up for it?

Also, if you want to contact me outside of CF, the AIM account is BRFUTBOLDUDE1502.

Ok, add "I'm a part of "the Project" to your sig, that way it's easier for us to keep tabs.

edit: For Muz's idea, I think we can create something that initiates threads until your PC can't handle it (we stop before a BSOD), then we can use the number of threads created as a benchmark score. I don't know if it would be effective but I'm just throwing it out there.

Guys, we don't know what we're doing and we don't know what language we're using. It's a mess. Let's get some ideas going, then depending on what we're doing we'll choose the language. If we're doing a game then it will most likely need some sounds Antdemo.

Pick a language, deciede on what you are doing, and give me a PM. In your other thread, you mentioned doing a game in VB, but do you have any idea how hard that would be? It would be hard to distribute the load between coders in VB where as with Java or C++ or anything else, one person could work on one file, one person work on another and the third make them both communicate.

Yeah. I'm down for C++. It's the language I'm best at. I just threw VB because it's probably what most people know. But hell, if I had to pick, it would be C++ hands down. Only problem is, we all need to learn DirectX else we're going to be making text-based games.

What exactly is it? A game of some sort?
I'm a 3D modeller, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be too good when it comes to low poly modelling and UVW unwrapping, so I think I'm out

Well we don't know what it is! Trying to get some ideas. I like Muz's idea, I really do. I just don't know how we go about testing the computer (so pretty much I don't know how we would make it)

Not really. One of the links I provided in the other thread linked to developer tools for the MS compilers. One of them helps with C++ games and works with DirectX and OpenGL for you.

Yeah I saw that. My quote was just an example. All I'm saying is that we can't just program the game with C++. We need to use other stuff too.

That's actually a really good idea. Ok. So my vote is. We do C++, and we use Cele's site to learn how to use DirectX and stuff (well it wasn't directx it was something else, I forgot). You guys can go through the C++ tutorial, and if you have questions Cele and I can help.
