That is actually very sad, he is one of the big names in music that everyone knows. I take being treated at home surrounded by family and friends to mean that the end is near.

I haven't heard his work personally, but it is sad to see anyone die slowly like that... :-(

At least they know its coming, and he is surrounded by the people he loves, rather than alone.

Sad news indeed. I have never really heard his work, but I knew about him and that he was a great opera singer. He will be greatly missed by everyone who loves opera/ music. When the end is near for him, I hope it is as painless as possible and that he be with the ones he loves.
