iPod FAT?

I believe you can. i don't even think you have to format it...cause i know my sister saves files on her ipod...as it shows up in my computer as a removable disk.

arent most MP3/media players in FAT format?
My PSP and MP3 are both FAT by default.

Apple is a completely different beast then 'most media players'.

And yeah, to use it for file storage (ive used mine as hw) you dont even need to format it. Though you could, and then probably get away with using a shareware pocketpc operating system. That would be awesome.

You shure could.

I've installed different operating systems to my ipods, in the past!

Yay for modifications!

because i tryed to copy a 4gb movie onto the ipod to just transfer it to another computer it gave me some error saying the file system couldnt handle the size of te file

Can someone explain this to me?

and then i also found this
The maximum possible size for a file on a FAT32 volume is 4GB minus 1 byte
the file i was trying to transfer was just over 4gigs
