Ok...this is a SUPER strange thing to ask on a computer forum but I need help on one of my questions for math.

Question: Write an expression for the sum of three consecutive odd integers.

Heres an example from the book:
Write an expression for the sum of an integer and three times the next larger integer.

Let x= an integer
(x+1) = the next larger integer
x+3(x+1) = the sum of an integer and three times the next integer.....

I love math as much as the next guy but this problem is confusing!!!!

Any help is GREATLY appreciated

Sorry dude!

algebra i assume... i think all you do is x+x+2(bc they're odd)+x+4 and then combine like terms... 3x+6

think of it in terms of number...

say the first odd integer is 1
the next is 3 and the one after that is 5
so it's basically 1+3+5
int, + next int + next int

or x+(x+2)+(x+4)

so as luckydick said...
3x+6...

(p.s you get more marks for showing working).
