As soon as all the P2P gets hit then they will start to look at torrents as they are getting bigger.
Like lurks said.. They are legal unless you start to download copywrighted material.. How ever they can be worse then P2P..
What happens in P2p is you ask for a file and it downloads.. Torrents.. You ask for a file.. Download a file and execute it and it uploads then downloads your file.. So your sending (depending on the torrent) information before you download the file.. Now some places and Motion picture get information on you before you even download..
My cousin got a letter from our ISP for download a movie from a torrent.. In the letter it explained what torrent file, what it was, when it started, when it stopped, resumed.. everything.. The Company that owned rright ot the movie contacted charter comm to get his info.. Charter told him to stop and remove all material.. then gave him number to call.
he called the number and it was charter and asked him if he removed and destryoed all material that was illegal, he said yes, and they told him that they wont protect him next time..
