dell laptop explodes at conference :) another reason why you should avoid dell

At Baptist, all we had were dells. And This new tech came in and took one of the old ones apart, hooked some huge power supply to it, and didnt wire it up right apparently, and sparks started flying, caught the building on fire. Didn't exactly blow up, but it did have a flamethrower effect

Umm, okay. A Dell blows up. Macs have also gotten some headlines lately because of a few where the battery overheats and catches on fire. HP has recently recalled batteries for several lines of laptops because of the risk of fire.

So just because ONE Dell "blows up" at a Japanese conference doesn't mean anything.

I own a dell as well, and it never caught fire on me yet. Mines a laptop so i'm not sure about how upgradeable it is, but i've never had one stitch of a problem yet with it and it's about a year old now.
