Communism?

Ok, I wanted to make a thread, because this past semester, as well as the past two years basically, I've been wondering, "What is essentially, the best government to have, that encorporates equality for the people, and the government, and that establishes health care and education for all of its citizens?"

So, in my American Studies/World Studies/Modern America and as well as reading and History Channel watching, I came to the conclusion that Communism, ideally, is the best government to have if you want equality. Now, I know this may seem wrong, bad, evil, and so forth, but, I want to share my views on this style of government.

But for starters, I want to say that this is not a Demo/Repup/Liberal/Independent or anythign liek that sort of thread. This is just an outlook on a way a country or nation could work in order to prevent and create a lot of good things. So, here we go!

Communism is a good government to have, because it allows equality for all of the citizens and government officials alike. Everyone gets the same pay, or same pay within reason. As well as everyone gets a home appointed by the governemtn, so no one goes homeless, unless for some other reason. Also, eveyone gets health care.

If everyone gets equal pay, or equal pay within reason, then this prevents the discrimination of classes, such as poor, wealthy, rich, and so forth. This is good because it puts everyone on good playing field. It's kind of liek the Dress system with schools. How everyone wears a dress, as opossed to people who don't have that and are allowed to wear whatever they so please. You more often then not get more discrimination and name calling in the school that is allowing the free dressing, as oppossed to the school who makes all the students use the same style of clothes.

Also, everyone gets education. Take Cuba for example. They have a higher, and better, education system then the United Sates. Because everyone attends school, they all learn the same things. As opossed to the U.S who divides it's teaching up into many different areas. This is a good basis for communism, it incorporates everyone to do the same things, yet achieve significant results!

Not to mention, eveyone gets homes. Everyone is given a house by the government. So no one goes homeless. Everyone gets a house, and doesn't have to pay for the bills, thus making your gross earning higher, so you can spend more on things that you want. Unliek in the United States, where there is a large amount of diversity in it's homes. Ranging frmo the extemly poor, to the moderate wealthy, to the extremly rich and powerful. Communism makes it so that everyone gets the same. Which in some areas is good, while in others it is bad.

The reason communism fails so baddly in today's world is that the government controls the money. The problem with this is that people are greedy. If your a political official, and a lot of money is coming to you, more often then not you'll take most of it, and give less back to the people. Also, if you are appointed a bad leader who is communist, he is in control of the government, and since he's in control, he can direct where cash goes to and from. Mainly to himself and then to his people, from which he gets the money.

Which is why communism is so frowned upon. Is because it's been dealt a lot of bad leaders, with the exception to very few, such would be Lenin and China's current leader. China is currently one of the fastest, if not the fastest, growing economies in the world! But back onto the subject...Communism, essentially, is the ideal government, if you want your people to be non-diverse and treat each other equally. Your neighbor is no greater then you are, neither is an actor, for you all generally get the same pay, and you all generally get the same type of house.

So, if anyone wants to add, argue, or anythgin on my view points, it is very much welcome. Just try not to turn this into a flame war. Also, yes, we do realise Joeseph Stalin was a bad leader, so try not to use that as your argument to why communism is bad, because every nation has had a bad leader. :)

I can honestly say I read the whole thing! It was really good, well supported with good facts and views! Great job 1337 dude, you definately earned your title! :D

I agree with everything you said, but there are always two things that really turn me off of communism.

A: Wouldn't it suck if everything looked the same??
B: Wouldn't it suck if the person next to you didn't do anything yet still got payed?

Thank you Hunter! See, we're already off to a better start. Look at us...*sniff* growing up so fast *sniff*

Anywho...

The thing that makes me dislike communism is the fact that despite whatever your job is, someone who does lesser still gets paid the same as you. Now, I'm not sure if that where my greediness comes in or not, but I mean, if you're doing a job that means putting your life on the line, I definetly want mroe pay then the guy folding napkins! :D

Well, your house may be the same as the guys beside you from the outside. But that doesn't mean that you can't make it different by altering its inside. I mean yes, all houses are typically the same anyways: Rectangular shapes consisting of multiple levels to accomodate multiple people, and to supply those peopel with various things. But that doesn't mean you can't decorate the inside of your house, seeing as that's where most people spend their time anyways!

I don't know, I just think people need to give communism another chance. It's just had a really rough road, and have never really had a chance to prove itself. Besides China, which is mainly the only exception, along with Cuba, which proves itself by showing the rest of the world that it can survive without Western influence, such as trading and exporting. Cuba relies soully on itself. Showing that every one of its citizens gets health care, and an education, as well as a house. Essetntially, that's all you need. I don't know, but that's more then what America can say...

I swear, wikipedia is better then google...but back onto topic.

Does anyone opposse my argument? Or have any changes to make to it?

Yea most Americans can't really say too much about their carreers! I mean, our VP is shooting friends "by accident", and Bush is just a moron. I guess you can't really expect that the people of America have much to say about their jobs when the people in the White House and Government don't even know what they are doing.

Communism is purely theoretical. It has never been instituted. All those forms of Communism like Leninism and Maosim are purely "modified" versions. If you actually have true Communism, it would be for the most part better than Capitalism. One of the reason why Communism is frowned upon is because it supresses individual rights to a certain point. To the US, Communism isn't that favored, because it doesn't encourage indiviualism, one of the founding points of our country. Also, in Communism it would be so that everyone shares everything, and when this happens, the need for the government to enforce things won't be needed. However, to suddenly go from Capitalist to a Communist country, people would have a hard time getting used to the changes. That is where Socialism comes in...a small government is placed to enforce general laws and rules. However, humans will always be humans. Someone ALWAYS wants power, and Socialism is a great way to get it. How do you think Russia, being a Communist country under Lenin, suddenly became a Totalitarian state under Stalin? The guy wanted power and he got it. Remember a general rule of thumb: Absolute power absolutely corrupts. ;)

Also, Communism tends to flourish in poorly developed countries that mainly consist of peasants or farmers. In countries like America, Communism would definately not be welcome because our economy and way of life is built upon Capitalism. In countries that weren't as developed as America, such as China or Russia, Communism was a great way since everyone could share everything and no one was left out from anything. There would be no rich nobles, middle class or peasants. Everyone would be of equal status with the same amount of income, health care etc.

America definately would not adopt any form of Communism or Socialism. Why? Because it's money sucking corporations would hate to be owned by the government with no way of getting any extra bucks. Hey, it's America. ;)
