asus is coming out with the Eee pc the cheap model is $199 and the other model is $299

it has intel 910 mobile chipset 900 mhz pentium m processor and 512 bbr2 memory it has a 7 inch tft screen onboard 802.11g wirless capibility .........the 200 doller one comes with 4gb flash hard drive the 299 with 8 gbs

it has a sudio and mic jack four usb 2.o ports, vga out,10/100 ethernet port,and a 56k modem.....it is installed with a linux os to save money......and oit only weighs 2 pounds i think there out now or coming soon!!

lol, well I already have a 6th PC, so... I personally couldn't stand something that small. It's nice for traveling if you do that a lot because of the weight, but being on it a lot will make you cramped (undersized keyboard). Not a bad price for an ultraportable, but only for daily travelers.

It looks ok for checking you emails and whatnot on the move but for anything else it would be pretty hard to use

how crappy. would be better to buy a cheapo desktop and monitor off ebay. you could spend the same and get better specs.
still, i suppose they may be useful to some people

If they release them in the UK, i'm going to get one. You could take it to school, and not worry too much about it being stolen, ETC.
