car engine swap question

To put that engine in a car and do a rear wheel drive setup on you could buy a decent car that already has it done. On top of things that were already said you'd need, you would also have to redo the rear suspension completely to put in a rear axle and would have to cut out and fab in a tunnel for the driveshaft to get to the rear end. All in all it's not gonna be worth it. If you really wanna do something like this throw in an srt4 engine or something, chances of that working are much better than this.

As I always say to people with ideas like this though, anything is possible with the right amount of money. Personally this is going to be more time and money than it is worth when you could just at new internals to the engine you have with a turbo or supercharger and go fast with it.

Just rebuilding the engine if you do forged rods and pistons, maybe port and polish the head, get a good header and exhaust, and do a custom turbo setup, and a lot of tuning with something like SCT you would be way better off as there is not as much custom work in other aspects. You may need something like a custom turbo manifold and downpipe, but the cost of this would be far less than an engine swap.

The amount of money it would cost you would be better off looking for a whole new ride. Unless ofcourse you want to run that motor to the front wheels :)

^LOL.

I wouldn't recommend that configuration. haha

Btw this will probably cost more than a challenger.

Can you specify what year this Stratus is and if it's a coupe or sedan?

haha wtf? just go buy a vehicle that already has that engine in it. That would be cheaper.

Probably has low horsepower/tq and weighs as much as a truck. In a relatively light car like a stratus, you don't want a big block V8 putting down power through tiny front tires. Your weight shifts to the back when you accelerate so that makes it even worse.
