All Things Apple

HP and Dell are well known companies if there staff committed suicide too then it would of been reported.
Are you that thick headed? These aren't employees of HP, Dell or Apple. These are Foxconn employees. In other words, they work for Foxconn.

And these headlines are off BBC Technology News about 2 months ago.

The suicides occurred at a Foxconn manufacturing plant in China. Foxconn is used as a subcontractor to manufacture products for various manufacturers - the most prominent being Apple, Dell and HP. They are not Apple employees. They work under Foxconn.

Can't contribute to the apple discussion as I have no clue about anything apple, but I did read about this and it's kind of crazy. You (whomever is perusing this forum) should read about the living conditions for some of the factory workers.

Which the articles were apparently posted while I was typing this... so... see above :D

Yeah one side of the story why don't you we are pointlessly arguing now.
I can go and get quotes too if you wish but I won't.

Point of the whole issue is Apple is not perfect there employee's have died, and just because other phone's have problem's getting signal it's doesn't make it right for iPhone 4 to have bad signal too. And giving out a free case is not going to win back it's customers.

Believe it or not, the factory conditions are decent compared to the rest of China from what I've heard.

Then again, I've never seen the factory in person but I have been to China.

I'll say this for the last time.

They do not work under Apple, Dell nor HP. They are Foxconn workers. They work under Foxconn.

The supplier has started an "aggressive manager and employee training program" to ensure this is not repeated, said Apple.
Apple said the hours were "excessive" and said its supplier would now be enforcing a "normal" 60-hour week.
In a statement Apple said: "Our investigation found that our top iPod manufacturing partner, Foxconn, complies with our supplier code of conduct in most areas and is taking steps to correct the violations we found."

Arse. I forgot to take pictures before!

I've lost the SD Card for my camera, and my parents are on holiday, and have taken theirs with them. I can take some horribly low-res pictures with my webcam, if you like........

That's fine, thanks for offering though. I hear the bumper can scratch the metal rim. Has it occurred on your phone yet?

Ok so basically repeating what I said thanks for that.

I just took the bumper off to have a look - I couldn't see any scratches. There where some marks (probably trapped dirt :p), but they rubbed off.

And to be honest, I wont be massivley fussed if the rim does get scratched. I plan on having a bumper throughout the life of my iPhone, so I wouldn't see the scratches anyway.

The other day I got a letter for one of those free AT&T micro cells. I had to go to a main retailer to get one and I called around to all of them in my area and they were out of stock on the iPhone 4. I was hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone today.

Picked up my Microcell today and on the way home I happened to go by a Best Buy. Loaded google maps, got their number and gave them a call and they had the 32GB in stock. I really only wanted a 16GB one but figured what the hell.

So far I'm highly impressed with the new iPhone 4. The screen is absolutely amazing! So much clearer than my old 3G iPhone (compare the older displays to the new one in safari and it's night and day!). The speed increase is also very nice. It's amazing how fast everything loads up. I've tried to put my finger on the antenna to get it to drop out and I can't. I've got 5 bars in my place without even using the MicroCell (playing with that tomorrow).

Wish I had a macro mode on my camera to show off the difference. When you're actually looking at them the difference is very apparent.
