This is strange..what's this?

i did a search from the "general computer hardware and software" section of this forum (using the second search box from the top) for "oem vs. retail", and when i got the results page back, on the next line down from where it says page 1 of 20, it says "Search:" (in white), then "Key Word(s): retail ; Forum:" in a darker color, then "General Computer Hardware and Software" underlined in white, then "and child forums" in the darker color??? Anyone know why it says "and child forums" there?

But if your looking for "OEM VS Retail maybe also try looking in "Operating Systems" (OS)

Its located down the bottom of the forums, under "Technical", last one down..

my question here is not regarding the oem vs. retail question, it's about the website, and why "and child forums" is coming up on the page....maybe David Lindon could look at the page i'm referring to and provide an explanation??

VB calls the sub forums child forums. Such as in general hardware/software the gallery is considered a child forum. If you go back to the main index and click on general in the top left, it will show you ALL of the sub forums/child forums. The absolute best advice on questions concerning VB is to go to thier website and just look thru the owner's manual.

oh, ok. i was concerned there for a minute as to what kind of site i have been frequenting here....especially after noticing the "free voyeur and swingers" link at the bottom of the page! people can go all over the web to look at porn, why does computerforums have to link to sights like that? it would be nice to leave the site computer related, as that's what i imagine most members are here regarding. it's a shame i don't feel comfortable sharing this site with my family and some of my friends because of that link at the bottom. just my 2 cents worth...

Ive just noticed that too, i think that link sould definatley be removed, its against the rules to show porn, so IMO there souldnt be a link to a porn site at the bottom... David, when you read this, i think that you should remove that link, or the ads which are producing that link...

Cant ya found some more somehow or something just as effective?
Like isnt there that google one, ad sense? cant remeber the right name,

Even tho im not a mod and not like mark and the rest of the mods can see that thread you were talking about but the ads have been a pain for alot of people(im sure?), if you look at one of my posts that started and you repled to and im sure others are thinking the same...?

Like how some at one point got pop ups? And all this....

I know i would help out if we could do something as i said in that thread any way to click on something to help for costs or something like that?
