I don't know if anyone else has suggested it but wouldn't it not be good to allow users to put images in their signature or use vbulliten code or even allow people to pick their own avaitar?

Not to be rude but that's kind of stupid. First off if I wanted to I could go to a porn site, get some image and post it on the forums using the tag. What's the diffrence? Sure the post can be deleted but so can the avaitar or signature if a member does decide to upload or use that nonsense.

I like this site but it would be so much better if I could use my nice signature that isn't nasty or rude or anything to that effect and have my avaitar.

Having to edit everyone's avatars means more work for the moderators. The admin may let you have a custom avatar if he approves of it, however. He just doesnt want just ANYONE to have the freedom of custom avatars

only david the admin can and last time i checked he wasnt on 24/7 to keep the place clean

I am a moderator of several other large forums. We allow them to have avaitars and signatures as they want. On these sites I have only seen two problems at two diffrent places with signatures and avaitars. I don't think it would be an issue of keeping this place clean. Why dosen't the adminastrator give it a try, see how it works out and then make a final decision based on that.

you can edit basic user details but not avatars

and it annoys me how new people seem to just sign up and then complain they cant have a custom avatar or pictures in there sigs

My first Forum, you couldn't have an Avatar at all until you got 100 Posts, at which point you could have a custom one.
