Workstation Not Seeing Network

I am almost at my wits end.

Added a new PC to an existing network. All the settings are exactly as per the other 3 PC's, yet it cannot see the other workstations, not can I load the settings for the networked printers.

All PC's are running XP Pro SP2 and all belong to the same Workgroup.

are your ethernet cables plugged in and you nic card drivers installed correctly?

thats usually the main cause of problems

This is a some-what stupid question, but it will let us know if the new computer is at least communicating with the router. Can the computer get on the internet?
