I'm having trouble with my wireless network on the wife's bedroom PC so I connected the wired ethernet cable back up. How can I get the PC to use the wired network when it won't show up in the connections list?
Do I have to remove the wireless PCI Card?

XP machine

Correct. All I can find is the Wireless connection. I installed the wireless card because I'm using a 75' ethernet cable and thought the wireless would be faster but I think it's slower.
So do I need to remove the wireless card and reboot the system to make it see the wired one?

Well, it should detect your cable itselfs. Do you have proper drivers for your network card?

I reinstalled windows and the wired connection works fine, then I tried to install the wireless card but it dosen't show up as installed. I tried a different PCI slot and no show again. Could the card have died?

Disable the wireless connection and see what happens, maybe it's hiding the wired. Xp does not have the best networking skills :)
