Default wireless connection

My wireless connection has been dropping very frequently for the past 1 month. When such problems occur, i went into the manual diagnostic tools to run a test on my connection. It turns out that the association test is a failure. What is the significance of an association test and how do i rectify it so that it gets back to normal?

This is the suggestion given by troubleshooter. Verify that a profile has been created. If created:
Verify that the profile SSID matches the access point Network Name (SSID).
Remove the profile and create a new profile.
Verify that your wireless network is not included in the Exclude (profiles) List.
Verify that the MAC address has not been excluded in the access point.

What profile is it talking about? I have never created a profile or it's been automatically created when the first connection is established without my notice?
