Wireless Boosters?

So I have a wireless n/g router, but have a large mass of copper pipes, and such right between my computer and my router. I was thinking maybe I could redirect the way the singal was going so it would go parralel to the ground until under my room, where it would then go up. So I would put a wireless booster, (G please) under my room. Would this work, and do they still make wireless boosters, and how much are they? Thanks.

Take off the plastic end on the antenna, add a spring or just totally replace the antenna with a larger one and you should get a bigger signal. Then again, the pipes could interfere, but it should work. Also what you mentioned above might work also. Just test it out.
