wifi connection problems

i have a d link DIR 615, which provides working wifi for two playstation 3's, another laptop running ms XP, ipod touch. But i recently had to reinstall windows vista on my toshiba satellite l300d 242. but now for some reason when i try to connect to my home wifi. it says local only. i have tried as much as i can think of but no luck.

It powers the desktop off ethernet well.

It's most likely an encryption problem. Have you tried to get the latest driver from your wireless adapter's manufacturer?
