is it secure?

ok. I just bought a Belklin wireless router so my dad can connect his laptop to the internet. Wehn i go on my dads laptop and look for wireless networks there is like 5 diffrent one and mine. i cant connect to the other networks they ask for like a network key or something. but when i go to mine i see it says "connect ot the network even tho it is not secure" and i dont like have to put in a password. PLEASE HELP ME GET THIS SET UP RIGHT!

Do a search on setting up WEP (network key), MAC filtering (limiting access to only pc's with MAC addresses manually listed on the router), and consider disabling broadcasting of SSID.
