Yes it is possible. and you don't need a Linux distro to do this either. BTW, you're not trying to setup a proxy server computer so you can trace communications are you?

Applications like *TOR & Privoxy & Vidalia bundle* from;

http://tor.eff.org/download.html.en

Quote:
Tor is an anonymity network. It protects your privacy on the internet. Tor uses a series of three proxies - computers (or nodes) which communicate on your behalf using their own identifying information - in such a way that none of them know both your identifying information and your destination. Tor can also help people get around restrictive firewalls which censor web content. Read the [WWW] Tor overview to learn more about Tor and what it can do for you.
How to setup/function TOR as a proxy server on *your own* computer go here:http://tor.eff.org/docs/tor-doc-server.html.en

Lol, Trace communications? No. You mean like other peoples? .. No.. I want to do it for the experience.. nad because people said I couldn't

So should I get tor or squid? I mean, the extra security would be nice, but when it comes to setting it up I want something kind of easy.. because I have no idea what I am doing... and I need one that has the instructions on how to do it too :P

I don't have to pay for anything to do this right? lolz

sorry...

Thanks

They both are great programs. Me personally I run and use TOR for Windows XP Pro works good. TOR is one of the fastest ones I have tested and used with the best luck and it uses SSL encryption which is always a bonus.

I downloaded and installed all the stuff.. I'm on firefox.

Now it says that there should be a "Tor Enable" thing on firefox when I restart it.

(if you go down to step two)

http://tor.eff.org/docs/tor-doc-win3....en#installing

Well, I downloaded the tor plugin and I got a .xpi file.. wtf am I suposed to do with that? :P
