i have a question about internet connectivity, specifically about the website Facebook.

why would i be able to connect to facebook (living in Florida) and someone from California not be able to connect to Facebook?

Just looking into the networking \ technical aspect of this problem.

There are a million different answers to that extremely vague question. More information is necessary, specifically about the internet connection in CA.
