Networking SP1 & SP2

I had the computers at my house networked before, but ever since I installed SP2 on the other computer, I've been having difficulties getting them networked again. I tried setting up the "Small or Home Office Network" again on both machines, and making sure the firewall was off, but still it does not work. I did this the first time to make the two computers networked in the first place. Whenever I go to "Network Places" I only see that machine which I am on at the moment and when I go on the other one I can only see the one, in which, I am on. What do I have to do in order to make this network work again? Is there a security feature in SP2 which has to be disabled in order for me to perform this certain task? Greatly appreciated. Thank you.

well it may have changed your IP settings. Please verify that they are the same as before SP2.

also some hardware does have problems functioning.

also you may have to open certain ports to get applications working again.

here is a list of known affected apps with sp2

I had to dig deep to find it (why MS!)

also I would turn the firewall off and just use your router's built in one.

the SP2 firewall also may be conflicting with other firewalls.

please check that site for more info!
