hi everyone

I got my computer and laptop network together thru d-link wireless router. Computer is using wire, laptop is using wireless.

I got my printer install with computer. Tested, and it works fine with computer.

Laptop and computer can see each other drivers.

My question is how do i make laptop can use my printer ? . Thanks

nevermind, i got both working now. But my computer have to be on all the time when the laptop want to print. are there anyway if my computer off , then my laptop can still print ? thanks

there's several options to set up your printer so it can be "standalone" on your home/work network. here's a couple:

1. use a router with a print server built-in.

2. Purchase a Jet Direct box (its a computer & ethernet adaptor ... you connect your parallel (can't use USB) cable to the input and output via ethernet) Then you connect to the Jet Direct at first via your pc and configure it with an IP Address, then use your add a printer wizard to connect to it on whatever pc you want to use it.

3. Purchase a network printer with ethernet built-in (built-in Jet Direct) ... again you can configure your printer with an IP Address within your network.
